Edgar Wilson has been a Trust Waikato trustee since 2012, and is currently the board’s Deputy Chair. He finds it personally rewarding to see “the difference that Trust Waikato funds make within the community”, and enjoys watching groups progress towards collaborative working and self-sufficiency.
Edgar’s professional and academic background is in education, both secondary and tertiary, in New Zealand and the UK. He is currently the Regional Engagement Manager for Wintec, working with private training establishments across the Waikato, as well as with the region’s migrant community.
In addition to Trust Waikato, Edgar’s community involvement is broad. Other current governance roles he holds include as Deputy Chair of K’aute Pasifika; Chair of the New Zealand Credit Union Foundation and Colin Smith Memorial Fund; Deputy Chair of Independent Tertiary Education New Zealand; and a board member of Child Matters.
