Finance and Investment Manager


Want to be part of a vibrant philanthropic organisation? Each year Trust Trust Waikato aims to invest wisely its Trust capital of over $390m and to grant effectively to community groups benefitting the people of the Trust region.

In 2016-2017 the Trust granted over $11.5 million to 600 community organisations and projects around the region.  

The Trust is seeking a dynamic finance professional to join our effective team of nine staff.  This role will report to the Chief Executive.

The Trust has recently moved into its new office that is designed to support the collaborative office culture that is team-based with open communication. The Trust is also implementing many system and software changes that will see us continually evolve and improve in how we operate.  

The Finance and Investment Manager will be responsible for:

  • Administering and monitoring the management of the Trust’s investments.
  • Assisting in developing the Trust’s commitments in responsible investment.
  • Managing the key financial tasks for the Trust.

The Trust uses an external investment advisory firm and external fund managers.  Currently its accounting services provider is PwC and the auditors are KPMG.

Complementing an effective Trust Waikato team, you will be respected for your expertise, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, experience in managing demanding priorities and deadlines with a high skill level with software applications such as Xero.

You will be a Chartered Accountant and able to demonstrate Knowledge and experience in institutional investment the management of financial assets, financial management and reporting.

You will have a passion for the philanthropic and voluntary sector and honour the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

Salary range $118,900 - $126,200
