Trust Waikato has launched a new website today, providing greater accessibility for our users as part of our commitment to diversity and inclusion.
A desire for everyone in our community to access the Trust’s information is what initiated the project and led to the new purpose-built site centred on accessibility. This process began with feedback from our website users to better understand what they found did or didn’t work well on the previous website. We are grateful for those who took the time to complete our survey and provide their insights.
The website was built to incorporate best practice for accessibility and was assessed against the industry standard for Web Content Accessibility. A key feature of the new website includes Te Reo Maaori being integrated in an educational and interactive way. Te Reo Maaori kupu (words) are conversationally woven throughout the website with translations appearing when hovering over the
“Visitors will find the same key information on our website, just with a different look that better embodies the direction of Trust Waikato and commitment to our Ngaa Pou Rautaki. The aim is that it’s also in a format that our community will find easier to use and understand,” says Danielle Lorberbaum, Trust Waikato Communications Manager.
The website contains information on Trust Waikato’s grants and funding, free community rooms, investments, history, and community stories.
